I think I have gotten out of the habit of updating my lj, but I can't cite the excuse of having a facebook because... I haven't gotten one yet. But do not bother me, I will get one on my own time and then I will stay in touch with all the fabulous people who are not staying instate!
I suppose my life has been relatively interesting lately, or at least more so than it usually is. My parents were out of town for ten days and that was a nice break, although it did wreak havoc to my sleeping schedule (i.e. getting up early to go to summer school, doing a little homework, riding/martial arts, boys coming over so I could walk my dog at 10:00 PM and then not leaving until midnight or later... and repeat). But that was fun, and now I am done with my Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian class for two weeks! And then I start 201 first semester, which will be exciting. It really was a fun class; one of the sophmore ASU students in the class is actually going to be on my dorm floor next year, so we were planning dorm parties and whatnot. 'Twill be fun.
My dad and I are now both officially registered for both the MS 150 (2-day 150-mile bike ride in November) and the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in January. We both chickened out of the Olympic distance Fountain Mountain Triathlon in October because we haven't been swimming, but we are looking for something in February. Now all I have to do is start running again... And cycling. Because after getting in 120 miles in June, I did not ride either of my bikes for all. of. July. I felt horrible! But now I am really hankering for a ride on Achtung (my hot graduation bike), so I'm really looking forward to start training for the 150, which is a good frame of mind to be in, I figure.
My mother amuses me. (Well, sometimes.) After hearing that late Saturday night Squishy was in the house with her boyfriend (whom mummy has not met yet), she [mummy] was more irate about the fact that Squishy hadn't finished laundry or packed for her flight the following morning (and subsequently had to get up at 4:30) than by the fact that mummy and daddy were out of town while he was over. In fact, that didn't even come up at all. I am happy to be trusted to that extent, but am I really that steadfast of a person? Well, I suppose that's a good thing, so yay for me. Although it was funny how mad she got, especially considering the available subject matter to take exception with.
Well, I can't think of much more to talk about, other than the fact that I am in upstate New York right now and it's quite pretty and lush and green (a little warm, though). I miss everyone! (Or at least anyone who reads livejournal anymore! There are some of you, right?)
