Karneval summaries up to Score 67

Hi, I'm Ling and I recently caught up with the Chinese scanlations after dropping this at Chapter 20+ a long time ago orz. Now I'm still trying to get over all my silver!Yogi feels despite reading it around a week ago.

All content are copied and pasted from my summaries on Tumblr (silveryogi), which you might have seen but eh I'll just post them here!

Someone makes an appearance after 40 chapters of absence and I'm sure you'll love him much more when you read the summaries

[Score 58]

• The Valga prove to be tough opponents
• Iva contacts Gareki who says that Yogi might be at his limit as there are simply too many enemies
• Noilly says that she is finding [something that is deeply linked to Cradle] before she combines with Peka
• She becomes even stronger as Yogi and Gareki watch more people get eaten
• Iva and Akari go to assist Yogi and Gareki
• After lots of attacking, Yogi is unable to move
• Gareki tries to protect Yogi to no avail as he faints too before Akari and Iva arrive

[Score 59]

• Iva creates a barrier for Akari to treat Yogi and Gareki who have breathed in too much Valga toxic fumes
• Gareki wakes up, asking if Yogi is alright. Unfortunately he had broke his arm.
• Akari takes off Yogi’s patch as he is still unconscious despite treatment.
• silver!Yogi wakes up and thus the silver!Yogi arc begins. Congrats for appearing again after 40 chapters of no screentime!
• Akari orders silver!Yogi to protect the town and fight the Valga (play with your heart’s content) after saying long time no see.
• Note that Akari addresses silver!Yogi as Yogi.
• silver!Yogi also vows to take revenge for Gareki’s broken arm before leaving
• Soon, the town is surrounded by silver!Yogi’s vines, killing Valga and protecting the people. This is definitely something that Yogi could not do.
• silver!Yogi does it while laughing madly
• Noilly wants to find ‘blonde nii-chan’ and kill him
• silver!Yogi appears next to her as she is surprised over his hair colour change.
• silver!Yogi asks if she put a cat into a body while stating that he has a golden cat within himself too. (is that referring to Yogi or Nyanperona idk) Either way he’s kind of emphasising that they are similar as both are people made of up two existences.
• then he does Yogi’s usual introduction but changes ‘the soaring male spirit’ to ‘the rising carousel’s curtain’ (or whatever 軋む木馬の開幕音 translates to)
• He also has his own line of ‘Just like how you scream, it would please me if you laughed’. The second part is also said during his first appearance in Chapter 18.
• silver!Yogi goes into psycho mode while Nai senses that there’s something wrong with Yogi.

[Score 60]

• Nai is worried as he sensed that there's something wrong with Yogi while Karoku tells him that everything will be alright.
• silver!Yogi defeats Noilly before going: IT'S SHOWTIME!
• Noilly's back story is revealed. Valga killed her parents and she tries to escape with her cat, Peka which she can communicate to telepathically.
• However they couldn't escape from the Valga so they fused into one being with Kafka saying that she will be an interesting specimen.
• end flashback. The second ship arrives.
• silver!Yogi comes back and attacks Hirato upon seeing him.
• Hirato blocks his attacks and calls silver!Yogi 'a troublesome child', disarming and blasting him
• Akari chides Hirato on increasing the casualty number while Hirato says that he didn't know that silver!Yogi was used.
• Iva was shocked as she thought that Akari had Hirato's permission to come here.
• It was a lie and Hirato said that the higher ups will not forgive this transgression.
• Akari asks silver!Yogi to take medicine while silver!Yogi threatens to chop his head off before escaping back to the ship.

[Score 61]

• On the silver!Yogi/Yogi cover page, they are both wearing Nyanperona hoodies how cute
• silver!Yogi returns to the ship and plays hide and seek with Nai and throws him.
• Jiki catches Nai in time while Nai wonders about silver!Yogi since it's the first time that they meet.
• Nai reunites with Gareki who avoids a hug as his arm was broken so Nai falls down.
• Then they laugh about it before discussing that silver!Yogi is definitely not just a result of an allergic reaction (which is what Circus tells them)
• Gareki decides to eavesdrop Hirato and Akari's discussion.
• Hirato notices them anyway. They wonder if they should tell Gareki and Nai the truth since they are still far from Circus's core.
• Gareki and Nai are determined to hear about it so Yogi's past is revealed in the following chapters

[The Cradle Project, Yogi's past, Circus's rescue mission and the origin of silver!Yogi (Score 62-63)]
Cradle Project

• The Cradle project was for the sake of creating evolved humans through modifying genetics. 30 years ago, the government commenced the project secretly.
• However, it backfired since Cradle cells create Valga as it takes over the human body.
• 20 years ago, the sealed Cradle was stolen and researchers were killed
• Karoku’s parents are revealed to be involved with Kafka/Valga.
• 18 years ago, Valga started appearing (Karoku was also born then)
• The Valga incidents kept occuring, so the government set up Circus 14 years ago to fight them after creating the Circus bracelets that lets people absorb Cradle powers and use it safely

Yogi’s past and the tragedy

• The following events take place 11 years ago in which Yogi is 10 years old.
• Yogi’s family is the royal family of a small country called Heemlark (?) in which Yogi is prince as his father is king.
• Remember Yogi’s introduction with the ‘heart-throbbing sparkling prince’ thing? It’s totally foreshadowing this so much I can’t
• He has a younger sister, Momari (?).
• One day when Yogi and his servants were looking for Momari, the servants got beheaded by Valga while Yogi was captured by scientists
• At the same time, the whole country was destroyed by Valga.
• Yogi got implanted with Cradle cells while he was unconscious.
• When he wakes up, he was congratulated for reaching the next stage of evolution
• He sees Momari being killed in front of him
• At some point of time he probably developed dissociative identity disorder due to all the trauma he suffered

Circus rescue mission

• some time after the tragedy, Hirato and Tsukitachi go to the lab to investigate
• By then, Yogi already destroyed the whole lab. Judging by how the scientists weren’t around already, I guess that Yogi killed them since those scientists would definitely want to experiment a lot on him really
• It wasn’t mentioned whether it was Yogi or silver!Yogi that Hirato and Tsukitachi met then. I think it’s silver!Yogi because he calls out for Momari and that he could leviate (implying Cradle powers)
• Circus wanted to kill Yogi at first because he’s dangerous
• However the decision was changed as they find out that Yogi was the prince of the country.

silver!Yogi

• Yogi did not become a Valga after being injected with Cradle cells because of special Cradle type cells that already existed in his body that prevent the Cradle cells from transforming him.
• His country is where the Cradle cells originated from with everyone in the country having these cells in their bodies.
• The royal family has the most concentration of the Cradle type cells so there were many royals who were skilled with Cradle powers.
• The implanted Cradle cells then became a part of Yogi and coexisted with him, even developing a will of his own.
• Whenever Yogi is weakened, the equilibrium of his own cells and the Cradle cells is disturbed.
• To enable the vessel, Yogi to continue living, the Cradle cells will use immense power to appear on the surface.
• This is the Cradle personality, also known as silver!Yogi.
• silver!Yogi actually remembers the past that Yogi has completely forgotten, seeing that he cried while dreaming about the past.

[Score 64 aka mood whiplash]Score 64 is extreme mood whiplash with silver!Yogi being awkward and funny before Circus starts trying to sedate him who is so done with being always told to sleep. silver!Yogi accidentally squashed Yukkin, Nai cries and he gets so upset that he injects himself with the sedative/medicine. Afterwards, silver!Yogi and Yogi meet in their mind space with Yogi asking silver!Yogi if it is painful to hurt other people while promising to apologise for silver!Yogi. MOST UPSETTING CHAPTER EVER SILVER!YOGI YOU POOR THING.

[Score 65 aka opinions on silver!Yogi feat Hirato/Tsukitachi and Gareki/Nai]

• Yogi wakes up with Nai and Gareki sleeping on his bed and lots of things strewn around (implying that Yogi was asleep for a long time)
• He is confused about what happened until a sheep tells him it's 2pm and that he was knocked out and then brought back to Circus's ship.
• Yogi wakes a sleeping Gareki, getting kicked and stepped on by Gareki lol.
• Nai also wakes up, then Yogi apologises to the both of them but he doesn't know why he's doing that. He just has a feeling that he should.
• scene switches to Hirato and Tsukitachi.
• Tsukitachi asks what's up with Silver Yogi (銀與儀) and Hirato chides him for using a nickname for 'an unknown existence that is a personality born from Cradle cells' as it's a rule of the research tower.
• previously silver!Yogi is referred to as silver haired Yogi (銀髪の與儀), the silver one or Yogi's split personality,
• Tsukitachi says that it's easy to understand and Hirato should be more flexible.
• According to reports, the girl and cat Valga seem to be of the same type as Yogi although one is Valga and the other is human.
• The partition/double wall system (雙壁系统) was used. (t/n: implying that it has to be used to create beings that are made up of two existences ike the cat/girl Valga and Yogi?!)
• Tsukitachi says that the enemies are getting stronger, so Yogi has to awaken.
• For that to happen, his past memories have to be released/unlocked and he has to face them.
• Is it too early? Hirato says that it's not as Yogi's mental state became more stable because Nai and Gareki give Yogi strength in his heart.
• Nai shows Gareki a Nyanperona notebook that he writes messages to Gareki whenever he's away.
• He starts reading before Gareki starts being tsun and snatches it
• Gareki asks why Nai does that and he says that Yogi told him to do so.
• Whenever Yogi is feeling sad, he writes to Nyanperona in his notebook as it helps him to calm down.
• Gareki just goes: THAT GUY IS TOTALLY NOT ALRIGHT
• Yogi drops by, saying that tea starts at 3pm and he's going to help.
• He says that it's first time properly reuniting with Nai since Karoku was rescued before hugging Nai while the both of them are like: it's great that you're healthy and well!
• Yogi leaves Nai and Gareki to prepare for tea
• Gareki asks if Nai could tell if Yogi and silver haied Yogi（銀髪の與儀）are two different people.
• Nai understands Yogi's situation as: silver coloured Yogi's （银色の與儀) [t/n: note that Nai differentiate's Yogi using colour, not hair colour]  home is Yogi's body. Because silver!Yogi is powerful, so when Yogi is in trouble, silver!Yogi comes out and help him.
• Gareki asks what does Nai think about Yogi not remembering his home and family.
• Nai thinks that Yogi actually remembers, but he accidentally lost these memories because he was afraid.
• Nai: So if I meet Valga, I will plead them to not do scary things. That way, nobody will have to forget the people they love most.
• Afterwards it's Yogi hosting a treasure hunt game as Nyanperona.
• Karoku apologises to Gareki about his actions and thanks Gareki for saving Nai.
• Nai says that he should work harder to support everyone at Circus who is working hard and protect Karoku so that he would no longer have to feel afraid.
• Karoku says that he will stay by Nai and believe in the world he loves

[Score 66 feat Gareki not taking any anyone's shit]

• Gareki is going to Hirato to ask something so Yogi asks him what’s up.
• Yogi says that the ship is going towards a research tower as everyone needs health checks after the intense battle.
• Yogi is concerned about Gareki’s broken arm.
• Gareki asks Yogi what has he seen as Gareki was puzzled about how Yogi could have known about his broken arm.
• Gareki’s arm was only lnown to be broken, treated and subsequently off the cast when Yogi was knocked out from the Valga battle and he wakes up in Chapter 65 because silver!Yogi took over in this period of time.
• Yogi is unable to answer so Gareki assumes that he doesn't remember anything that silver!Yogi sees.
• Gareki leaves Yogi.
• Yogi wonders why he could see Gareki in a lot of pain after Gareki breaks his arm (as he was supposed to be unconscious then) .
• Then he dismisses this, thinking that being knocked out made him confused and he should get over it.
• Gareki requests not to go back to the school. Hirato says that he would not be able to become an official Circus member.
• Gareki says that he could still fight Valga with Circus even without becoming a Circus member.
• Gareki: I will not take orders that I don't like but I will not give up joining the ship!
• GAREKI ISNT HAVING ANY OF YOUR SHIT HIRATO
• Hirato pats Gareki's head, saying that if it's him, he could make it.
• Scene switches to the bad guys. Nothing of significance and I can't translate names so not going to summarise

• apparently one of them has a past with Akari and Akari says something about saving lives
• I CAN'T TRANSLATE NAMES ARGH
• Karoku meets with Hirato and Akari.
• They show Karoku a book that is revealed to be Karoku's diary when he was in Niji forest with Nai.
• As it was split into half, it was unreadable
• Karoku asks if Circus could promise to protect Nai
• It's actually a happiness/prosperity formula/dossier written by Karoku's mother for Nai and the Niji
• Yogi, Tsukumo, Nai and Gareki are playing while the sheep asks Nai to see Hirato.
