I was pretty depressed and a comment from nevermind68 made me wonder, so, not for the first time either, I spent last evening thinking about what drives me in this fandom, what inspires me and what it is that I care for.
And the answer is easy.
Just one thing.
If not for him, football would never have turned into a fandom for me.
There is no other player or pairing that really and truly gives me something.
Frankly, I find it's a luxury to admit it, even if it limits my reading material immensly, I don't care for anything else.
Edit: I just walked Luke and it occured to me that maybe the statement above wasn't 100% correct. Depending on the writing, the story, the characterisation and such, a lot of footballers do something for me. The point is that I could live without them. But I absolutely need Cristiano. And the fuck do I need Wayne at my back or I wouldn't know what I can or can't do, lol.
