My sister spent the better part of yesterday evening making clear to me how utterly important it was that I woke up early today to go and fetch the tickets for the Alemannia Aachen vs. St. Pauli game. That I absolutely had to get the bus so I’d get the train at 7:15am because there would be hell going on as it’s the first home game and it’s against St. Pauli and it’s the first game in the shiney-new stadium,and and and, you get the point.
And it’s not like I didn’t. It didn’t keep me from spending the night on my laptop manipping as some tender mood had struck me.
Fortunately my sister lacks the belief I could ever get up and out of bed all by myself. So this morning she comes to my bedroom around 6am to find me sleeping on my laptop, the head exactly where the loud noise comes out, in yesterdays clothes and totally not ready to go anywhere. The usual. And she reacted with the very usual groaning ‘Mann, Johanna, I knew you’d oversleep again.’ Thanks God she’s my good sister.
I arrived at the Tivoli at the set time, just to find the guys with the beer barrel have been there since 3am. The line was about 15 meters long, but that was fine as by the time I was let into the shop finally it went aaaaall the way down the place and there were still people arriving. Poor idiots.
The two hours I spent there weren’t boring neither as I stood with wto younger boys,some middle-aged man and one who was old enough he’d seen the earlier days of the club ;p
We ended up talking about Aachen, the new stadium, what a shame it was that the women’s cup doesn’t come to the city, about stupidly expensive players and the clubs that are buying and selling them, about ManUnited and Real tapping the billion pricetag against Cristiano’s forehead. I learned that FC Augsburg is owned by the Takko (low-cost clothing shop line) billionaire guy now. After Hoffenheim the next club who’s come to big money, it seems.
And now back to the stupid tender mood which is still around as it seems :)
I don’t know why but with Frank and John it’s always the gentle scenes that appear most alive in my memory. This manip was also inspired by one of those gentle, romantic scenes from deathinacave’s It’s Always You, a couple of chapters ago.
It’s meant to be part of a more extended graphic, but once it’s on there there will be changes and so I figured I could post this one as a standalone just as well.
