That's what they always always said to her father. As long as she could remember. And she knew it was true in more than one respect. And in more than one respect it hurt her. Those were the things she didn't like about herself; most of them were connected to him. Having his eyes meant having his temper, having his fits and bouts of anger and violence that she was fighting each and every day.
Truth is though you need your eyes to see. There's much she wouldn't have noticed about herself or about others if they were any different. She often wondered if she would have wanted to have it any other way and she'd like to think of herself saying no. But if she had the possibility, she thought just as often, she'd tear her eyes out and make him swallow them down.
But that's not exactly an option people with anger management issues should consider.
