Olympic Games - London 2012

A splendid, entertaining, so creative and touching opening ceremony.

I loved the show. Really enjoyed the little journey through pop music and culture and all these wonderful costumes, too. And Simon Rattle. He was the first person to make me sit through one entire documentary while I was still a young teenager. And also, yes, we Germans like Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean, most probably more than many other nations, I don't know why but that's how it is, lol.
The Olympic cauldron, made up of many smaller ones - one for each nation - that finally form one big torch, was a beautiful idea :")
And Abide with me... dear God.

The Olympic Games, their idea alone, it always makes me feel proud of humankind, because it shows that we are capable of trying for so much positive, are capable of big achievements, every individual, as different as we are, and as a whole, because in the end we're all the same old one, and so often all we have is the person next to us, all we have is each other; it makes me tear up with how much I can love this world despite any of the shit we come up with daily.

Yeah. I like being a useless romantic like that. I feel like that's my role in life.

Let's play games now.
