Last Friday me and two friends have been to Amsterdam. It was greatly interesting.
Once again a city unlike any other I've seen before. We had a tight time-schedule, so we just took a stroll around some of the larger streets and had a look and the Palace and some churches (one of my friends is studying Architecture and me, I'm a sucker for pretty things so that's why). Then when it was time to get back to the car we "chose by incident" the way past the "red-light district" with those sex-shops and prostitutes and where there are most of the coffee shops. Although those are everywhere, we were pretty astounded really. Next time we plan to have a look inside either, but as I said "tight time schedule" this time.
We parked at the Ajax Amsterdam Stadium by the way - in view of its architectural excellence of course.
All in all it was fantastic, a city with a very own draw and personality. I was amazed. Hope I get some of the pics that were made.
Apart from the air-problem, cause I was under the impression you could've cut it with a knife so thick was it, heavy and sharp-scented.
Plus, I brought something of a cold from our stay there... which might have been to a degree responsible for my impression of the air being heavy.
Now one more fun part: This morning I heard about people in the Netherlands diagnosed with the legionnaires' disease. Yeah, paranoia, lol. ;)
But I'm feeling crap today and the last two days and nights I've been mostly delirious. Here's to Polish pharmaceuticals my mom's brought with her the last time. I have no idea what they put inside but they whack you off your feet quicker than any disease ever could, at the same time they make you ready for work or uni in the course of one night and day whatever disease it was you had. At least for the day. I don't want to think about how it all'll be coming back with a vengence tonight.
Oh yeah, don't mind the typos in this entry cause for sure you'll find them.
And what's worse I came for the first time for some days online just to have a look at my mails and lj... and there's so much... so much written, so much stuff I want to read and watch and see and whatelse, and my head is spinning a little now from watching the monitor and typing. And there are still so many projects lef unfinished on my laptop... and then I got an sms just some seconds ago... Jeez, from someone I didn't expect at all. I just don't know wheather I should be scared or glad or... I guess I settle on suspicious...
I hope I can catch up in the next few days on everything I seem to have missed, with the semester beginnig right now I hope to get into some kind of agreable working routine. I'm glad I had no courses or lectures today though...
Another of the rather worse things is I had entirely forgotten to tape the 1hour review of the Portugal-Poland match. But as it seems it wasn't really worth it after all.... Though just to see the Polish team win is worth quite a lot, when I think back on them beating the U.S. some years ago... *sigh*
Ah, to hell with it.
Portugal is such a mess... I know one shouldn't be crying after people who have left... and yet I wonder... Figo... :(
