Anne of Great Fables

I went to the Tattered Cover in Denver tonight to see my favorite author, Anne Lamott.  She was as brilliant and raw and funny as I had hoped.  It was a fantastic evening and I was able to get a couple books signed for my mom and I.  I tried to think of something clever to say upon meeting her and failed rather horribly, but she smiled anyway, wished me luck with my writing, and signed my books.  I can't remember having ever been so star struck.  Anyway, during the Q&A portion after her reading she was talking about her faith and she said this which I thought was incredibly profound:

"I pray three prayers: 'Help me, help me, help me,' 'thank you, thank you, thank you,' and 'wow.'"
