Jim screamed, rushing forward across the bridge. Spock stumbled off of the platform past Scotty; he only made it a few feet before collapsing. His body trembled, covered in blood. Kirk’s mind raced; Spock had been on a routine mission, nothing serious. He knelt, cradling Spock’s head gently.
“Please...Spock…”
Kirk could not continue; Spock’s eyes fluttered once before making contact with his. In that one look, Kirk broke. Spock’s body fell limp in his arms - Kirk’s insides writhed before he set Spock down. He raged about the bridge, smashing anything in his path - the crew had fled. He had but one thought:
Fuck you, Starfleet.
