After the final darkness, the smog of the battles lifting, they find that some darknesses are harder to conquer. Ron still dreams darkly sometimes, and when he's alone at nightfall he sometimes feels the panic rising. It dulls over time, though, and he still has hope that the memories will fade completely. He still has hope, and that's enough.
He has hope because he has Luna, who also has nightmares sometimes or jumps when he touches her, but who always, always smiles brightly at him when he comes in and who always, always make him realise that they're not dead at all. Luna, who points out ladybugs on the windowsill and who wears the first flower of spring in her hair - it makes him forget all about whatever it was that he dreamed about, and instead hug her until his heart feels like it's about to burst.
They're alive. They have each other. There is hope.
