I decided not to go into work today.
I had planned it out last night perfectly as I stood up in front of my bed, working on this project for my Drawing class that will be due at the end of the semester. I stood up after sketching the last section and I thought, "I don't feel like working three hours tomorrow. It's not worth it when I have my school work to do." So I talked to my girlfriend about my decision and she agreed with me that if I had work to do I should just skip work. I went to bed, satisifed with my decision.
I woke up at 8:30 this morning and got everything for my day all planned out. I grabbed my assignments, both for school and for outside of school (*cough* presents *cough*), showered, ate breakfast, etcetera. I called in an hour before I had to go into work and told them I threw up and got the day off because I was a "sick".
My day off helped me slim down my workload, I now have less to worry about this week and because of that I am quite happy. It gives me more time to work on my outside projects that are not school related, like my presents, writings and other fun things I do in my spare time.
It sure is nice to take a day off from work every once in awhile, even though my method of doing so is horribly dishonest, yet a strange good feeling. I guess it's one of those, "it's wrong but it feels so right" kind of situations.
By the way, I plan on renting out a camera tomorrow so I can photograph two pieces at the MFA for my drawing class. Would you guys like to see some stuff that I've done or happen to be working on currently? I've got oil paintings and some drawings that I think you might like.
