I got :
three indian tapestries, perfect for ghetto curtains...
a canvas and wood three drawer rolling hamper/cart thing. very yuppie, yet incredibly practical.
a black chenille scarf.
a hand knit red wool cardigan that is now very fitted (washed it, i'm a dumbass but it usually works in my favor. yay!)
AND!
a tri-fold aluminum "room divider" screen, blue canvas panels with three pockets each, perfect condition and very hospital . i love it.

America throws more away than the rest of the world consumes. That disgusts me. Does it bother you?
Look in your dumpster! You might find a lot of nasty shit ya don't want to touch, but you will also find amazing useful stuff.
If you don't need something, but someone else might find it useful, put it in a cardboard box marked free and set it out somewhere. If you live in an apartment building, start a free table, or area, for residents to leave things that are still usable.
Don't unquestioningly pull out the credit card for everything.
Think before you buy, don't consume for the sake of consuming.
Major corporations are not your friends, and you can live a great life without buying everything they offer you.
Visit craigslist.com.
Barter good- working corporate slave jobs to buy material goods bad.
Creativity and individualism is the key to not becoming a "Fat American".
The current "corporation of america" is not your friend, and they certainly aren't trying to be.
