Can I Write For TVD?
I am not looking forward to the Tyler/Caroline/Klaus love triangle. Especially since the moment that an inkling of Klaus/Caroline appeared on screen, my mind flew to a much different place: I thought Klaus was going to try to replace Rebekah.
Think about it. They're both blonde spitfires who throw themselves headfirst into things. They're both a little love-starved. And while Rebekah isn't the youngest in her family, being the only girl may have given her a bit of a "baby" status, at least in Klaus's eyes. Caroline, of course, is considered a "baby" vampire (which is why she and Tyler would've had such an interesting dynamic... before they killed it with sex. Seriously. That was such a stupid plotline.)
Anyway, it's the latter's birthday and she's dying. And Klaus walks into her room and sees... his sister. Someone whose life had been recently dampened because of someone she loved, and he just needs to fix it, because that's what brothers do, they fix things. His real sister is daggered in a coffin somewhere, and he's still feeling a little guilty about it, and he's so, so, lonely. So instead of just giving Caroline the cure, he talks to her, gets to know her a little, and encourages her to live because the world is such a beautiful place, and he could show her that. All she has to do is live. And there are tears and hair petting, and "there, there"s and she's just like Rebekah. Or she could be. Because it won't be safe to un-dagger Rebekah for a long time, and Klaus just needs someone. And he knows that he can get Caroline to love him. After all, he's holding her boyfriend hostage the same way he's holding the rest of his family hostage from Rebekah. It could work.
And they could explore that, make him more sympathetic, he's not a Salvatore, it's not romantic love that saves him, it's familial love. And yeah, it could be argued that the Salvatores, in the end, really truly love each other, but the writers are intent on squashing that love down so they can have ~drama with Elena. And besides, we can already see how love-starved Klaus is. Caroline could be act the exact same way she is now, say the exact same words, just let her response be towards something different that Klaus constantly trying to hit on her.
Because you know that in the end, she'll find her way back to Tyler and Klaus is going to have a hissy fit and kill people and that happens like every other episode, so yeah. Spice it up a little, can we?
