Ladybird is sick. She's underweight and she just wont eat. She makes whiney noises when she breathes every now and then, but she is still walking around like nothing is wrong. Any suggestions? Should I take her to the vet? Any recommendations to a certain vet? The good ones I've gone to overcharge and they're too far away and the closest one is the

The whining when breathing is bad news. when that starts happening, she pretty much needs to be on antibiotics. If she's lost weight, it's not so good either.
Leaving her with breathing like that for too long will scar her lungs if she survives. And rats die fast when they get sick. Sharky had a flareup, he died two hours after he started showing symptoms (red snot, loud breathing.)
Anyways,it's probably a myco flareup, you might want to put her in a separate cage for a little bit, because it's contagious. if you can hear it in her chest, it's pnemonia (which is what cody and sharky had.) and that's really hard to fix. In the meantime, get her some protein rich babyfood (cody has chicken and rice when he was sick) or a good wet catfood to put on weight and give her energy. vegan knows of some over the counter homemade rat antibiotics, but they probably wont fix her if she's really far along. They might help, though. she can tell you about that.
cody had lung scarring, so he has bad breathing attacks. they're different because he is otherwise healthy and has no red snot. his vet is over in waterford, and they overcharged innitially, but after a while, he started seeing the rats for free and leaving really stupid charges off my bills. vegan takes hers to someone in oakridge who is pretty good, too.
