What I learned by reading a required reading for my women's studies class called "Misconceptions" - about women and their first pregnancies
Primigravida is lating for "a woman in her first pregnancy."
Maternity is "natural" - a biological unfolding, on with this same idea is Giving birth is natural - but "becoming a mother" in its deepest sense is not exclusively natural.
"New mothers are not born, but made."
It is not biology alone but heroism too that drives women to find the will and grit and creativity to put one's own impulses aside to serve the needs of a tiny creature around the clock - especially in an environment in which that heroic choice is only casually acknowledged, much less honored, cherished or assisted.
When you have a new baby, what you get is a whole world; it's a world filled with gifts.
Motherhood - epic commitment of the will to work in tandem with the heart and the instincts.
Have a baby is a miraculous event - "becoming a mother" - is a miraculous achievement of the will, as well as of the heart.

Then I read some interesting information on Sexuality:
sex is not proof of being loved;
sex is not proof of loving someone;
sex is not proof of being attractive;
sex doesn't make anyone important;
sex doesn't cure problems;
sex is not nurture; and
sex is not insurance against abandonment,
even if you're terrific in bed.
When we use sex as a substitute for nurture, love, power, or anger, sex is no longer a wonderful source of connection between our deepest selves and a beloved partner. *Just giving me some cuddling and I am the happiest girl in the world :)*
"When you are sleepy, sleep, when you are hungry, eat; when you are sad, cry;when you need comfort, find someone to comfort you; when you are lonely, learn to experience your lonliness as one of many human emotions. Don't feel from it, don't grab on to it, don't label it bad; just let it be."
Kaleidoscope - Imagine each color representing a part of your life. One color represents friends, one color is work or school, one color is family, one color is hobbies, and only one color of the entire maze of particles is sex. Sexuality, as the kaleidoscope imagery suggests is simply another part of life, sometimes more in the forefront than other parts, sometimes relegated to the background.
"Sex is not to be wrestled with as a devil, not to be idolized as a god, but to be accepted and embraced as a natural and intergral part of the whole."
Sexuality is how we live in our bodies. It is about being alive to our senses, yet not being controlled by them. It must involve sensuality.
Being alive to one's sexuality and being at ease with one's own eroticism is part of being a fully intergrated person and having free-flowing energy.
Sex is dependent on feeling clear, honest, and in tune with yourself and having the best interest of yourself and your partner at heart.
A woman can be sexual in the context of a loving, committed relationship, but her behavior is in the "bad" category if her beloved is another woman. (this is based on society's point of view"
Sexuality is a part of all of us. Being alive to our sexuality is part of being alive to who we are.
True ecstasy comes from having a love affair with life and living in harmony with your inner wisdom.

On spirituality and sexuality.
Experience of Spirituality is indescribable. It is an internal source of wisdom. It brings feelings of power, joy, fullness, and contentment. Spirituality is, above all, love. It is what transforms sex into rich, life-affirming experience.
Each of us is on our own spiritual journey - all seeking something. It means being secure in the knowledge that we are essentially good, loving, and lovable people, knowledge that is not easily shaked by what others around us say or do.
It is a sense of personal power, it results in the discovery that our greatest wisdom lies within.
Peace of mind, self-acceptance, and knowledge of God come from living in tune with one's inner self, experiencing the spirit within.
Knowledge of self is seen as the starting point for discovering knowledge of God.
In conclusion: We need to collectively internalize the belief that we can be both powerful and gentle, radical and lvoing, sexual and spiritual.
I believe there is a little something for everyone on my friend's list in here and I hope you find it interesting and educating. ~Sunshine~
