Endau Rompin 2006 (adapted from my MSN Space)
This is my 3rd NPCC overseas trip. Had fun. This may be the last overseas trip with the NPCC in ZSS. Kinda having mixed feelings. Nevertheless, the trip was a successful one.
With Zhaoyang aka handsome around, the trip was filled with loads of laughters. [Bestest of the best: Shut up and talk lah!]
The Ethnobotany Park @ NERC was really boring. NIght time, took the flu tablet from Jo-ann and was knocked out altogether. Day 2 was the most memorable. We took a boat ride to Kuala Jasin wherer we bagan our trekking to Upeh Guling Waterfalls and vocanic roacks which formed the whirlpools aka bathtubs. It is said to be the oldest exisiting lnadmark in Malaysia @ 240 million years old.
The other destination is Tasik Air Biru (Blue Water Lake). It's the cleanest lake in the area, which is potable. That is where we stoned the most leeches to death. And it is also the place we had our lunch. [Ziplocked packed lunch] Feeding the fish was therapeutic.
Rafted down back to NERC. Was not pleasant as we had some communication breakdown. Ended up they engaged a local guide for each raft to ensure safety of the kids. Rafting was memorable. Ivan, Joshua, Jacqueline, Wilson and I shared the raft. With a local guide with us, we emerged first though we were the fourth raft to move out. Simply happy to see that the kids enjoyed themselves.
