Week 1 (only one run this week): 3.8
Week 2: 21
Week 3: 13.1
Week 4 (with kids all week): 9.2
Week 5: 22.1
Total: 69.2 miles
Week 5 went pretty well. It included 4 and 6 mile runs on Friday and Saturday. Plus, I've started out this week on track by running 5 miles today.
Also, I've made some really great progress on my portfolio for U of O. Here are the practice books that I made while teaching myself how to do Japanese stab binding.
Here's what I came up with for my portfolio book. Remember, this is for Landscape Architecture, so I used a leaf print for the cover. The pages inside are black, which to me seems the best color to put photos on. The stitching is an antique gold color that really brings out the gold leaf color on the cover paper. I really enjoyed this project. Frankly, I know how unknowledgeable I am when it comes to bookbinding. It would have been preferable to use a coptic type binding technique for this, but I couldn't find the right sized black paper to build the signatures with and was somewhat scared that it was a bit over my head at this point. BUT, I want to learn and that will likely be a project in the future.
Its really shaping up, and I think within just a few days, I'll be DONE. Then all I have to do is wait. Wait. Wait. I'll likely be intolerably impatient.
