BC was wonderful!!!
My cousin Missy married this guy named Mike who has an East Indian background, so the wedding was a tradition Indian wedding. The whole event was so interesting and educational. The first night we were there it was her Mijah (excuse the spelling). A Mijah is a cleansing ceremony the bride and groom do the night before the wedding. Family members and the wedding party rub this flour and water like substance on the bride and grooms arms and legs, then everyone gets drunk. (something I am good at). Also, my cousin revealed her surprise for me... I was going to be one of her bridesmaids.
The next day was the wedding, and everyone was so gorgeous. My cousins dress weighted 20lbs!!! :O!!! How crazy is that. The bridesmaids dresses were soooooooo nice. When they're described they sound hideous, but trust me they werent in the least bit. They were liek mustard yellow with a brown outline. They had genie-like pants, and the top was like a dress. We had to cover our heads with this long scarf that touched the ground. We had those things I think they were called Banjees that were attached to our hair, and dangled on our foreheads.
The whole ceremony was really interesting, they had this three
men wearing turbans (well they arent called turbans in the seek culture), and they would sing traditional Indian songs, and we had to like stand up and than crouch down to touch the floor with our foreheads. Its how they pray to their God. The only part I didnt liek, was the food. :S It was too spicy and everyting was fried.
Later in the week I went to Sokes Potholes on Vancover Island. They are these huge cliffs you can jump off, and land in the water, but the water is really deep so its safe. Thats why they are called Potholes.
BUNGEE JUMPING. Haha thats right I mustered up enough courage to jump off a bridge. I'm realyl glad I did it though, and i'd love to do it again... but off someting higher this time. ;)
Well now i'm back in Ontario where the closest thing to a mountain we have is the Hamilton escarpment. Haha
My b-day is Sunday. I still havent decided what to do. Me thinks I shoudl call Slava and see if she would want to combine b-days... *wink wink* haha.
Once I get my new schedule, i'll plan out a day where you guys can come over and scrapbook k? If you're interested gimme a a call or leave a msg.
Luv Krystal
