Because I really need to know...

What would be an appropriate turn around time for an advisor going over a draft and handing it back?  What if the draft is two pages long?  What if the draft is 15 pages long?  What if this would be the third draft, so most of the words and material should've been read already before?

Inquiring mind needs to know....

3-5 business days, at most.

Thanks. So I should've expected a commented draft upon my return in response to the draft I sent before leaving work for a week and a half. twice...

I've had my advisor give me initial comments on a 25 page draft after a 3 hour turnaround, but he is far from average.

Honestly, I'd say it depends on the urgency. Are you supposed to be handing something in soon? Is there an external deadline? For a 2 page draft, I'd say that I'd expect a couple of days turn around time to be normal, but a week wouldn't be out of the question if it's not urgent. For a 15 pager, I'd say a week is normal, and a couple of weeks if it's not urgent.
