Insurance woes...
Somehow I kept getting bills addressed to me, instead of being mailed to the insurance. I finally sorted it out (I think) today.
I know I think my maximum deductible is $2500, which I could reasonably pay. Blah... This is what sucks about middle class, as soon as you think you've saved quite a nice amount (to invest, open an IRA, open a CD, etc.), life throws something expensive at you... I have to see how my budget goes for vacation to Brasil this year...
I am sooooo glad this happened THIS semester, and not LAST semester, where they had done a last minute shitty move and raised the deductible for the graduate insurance plan (the only one available to most of the grad students and foreigners) to $10K per year... Ten thousand dollars!?!?!?! That's half the paycheck of many students, if not more... We finally petitioned that we would agree to a $50 increase in our insurance plan if they would put the deductible back down to $2500.
