I hate my HOA!

Ugh. If there was a way I could live in Houston WITHOUT living in an HOA, I would be all about it.

As I've talked about, Scott and I need a new shed. Last night I decided to look up in our deed restrictions what we had to do in order to get a new one, just in case it wasn't as easy as going and picking one out. Turns out that we have to pick out a shed, submit a modification proposal (with pictures, dimensions, etc.), and then wait 45 days for them to approve it before we can get it installed. They have to do an on-site inspection and everything.

Great. So I decided to call this morning during their office hours to ask a few questions, like if it would really take 45 days and stuff. Turns out that on the weekends there is only one lady in the office and she's just there to answer phones. Nice. So now I have to wait all the way until Monday afternoon to call someone after school and figure it out.

It just annoys me. It annoys me that they are open on Saturdays with NOBODY in the office. (The one lady I talked to said she only worked two Saturdays a month there.) It annoys me that I can't plant whatever flowers I want in my front yard, or just go buy a storage shed when the one I have is literally FALLING DOWN. It also really annoys me that when I cut down a tree in my front yard, and I had just a stump there, I got a letter that the stump needed to be ground within 10 days. But the HOA has a tree stump in their part of the yard that has been there for a year, and they don't have to ground it down. When I call on Monday, I'm definitely asking them about it. (I was the one to call and tell them their tree was dead in the first place.)

Somehow, I have to figure out how to get a new shed approved, purchased, and installed in the next week and a half for our inspections. Not really sure how that is going to happen!
