(no subject)
so we raised 2511.00 for liz's memorial fund with the silent auction on saturday. that's so exciting! what was not exciting was the drive home from that. donnay and i dropped our cars off at his house and the drake's drove us out to their house so we could walk to the chandler jazz festival. on the ride to their house we were on the 202 and kyrene i think, and all of a sudden you hear donnay and drake say "oh wow" i was like "what?" b/c i was behind drake in the abckseat and couldn't see. moments before we were laughing about something stupid that was said and all of a sudden the car went dead silent. there was an accident the other side of the freeway where a truck had flipped and was prtty flattened out and they were trying to get someone out of it. kendall piped up about a mile or so later "someone needs to say something because we don't need to be like this" and we jumped on talking about dessert and the jazz festival to get our minds off it. we were all thinking of liz at that moment. what are the odds that on our way home from raising money for our friend who died in a roll over accident, we'd see a similar accident scene on the way home? how sad. kendall and i were talking later about it and like she said, that moment in the car is how we've all been lately. we'll get quiet thinking about it, and then suck it up and keep talking about something else. life has a crazy way of working. but that 2511 will help one kid go for a semester at college so something good has come from such a situation.
