Thank you, Knox County Schools. Thank you for re-affirming my old belief that public schools are a load of crap.
Thank you for rewarding the hard work of music teachers, and children who want to learn to play music, with the cancellation of yet another music program. An entire community is so relieved that their 40 year old orchestra program is over.
Who wants to go to another orchestra concert, and watch well behaved, smart children play violin, viola, cello, or bass?
Sarcasm over. I am angry, and sad, that my daughter and her friends will no longer have an orchestra program as of next year. As usual, the arts get cut first. Who wants to be in a well cultured society anyway, right? Not the USA. Not Tennessee. DEFINITELY not Knox County.
Why do we need children learning a stringed instrument when we have high school football? *Go Vols*
Even though we got this news today, even though there were children between the ages of 11-14 crying in their orchestra class today, my daughter has been in her room practicing her violin for over half an hour. And, yeah, that's right. She *has* picked out Black Sabbath on her violin. Bite me Knox County Superintendent Dumba$$. My child is *SO* much better than you.
