Twisting The Hellmouth

My live is busy as usual. I don't post as often as I want to, but I'm still reading a lot.

This is a reply to something ludditerobot posted.

My new favourite site to look for fan fiction is Twisting the Hellmouth. It is centered on Buffy and Angel fan fiction. There are a lot of crossovers, most stories actually, and although some fan fiction on other popular films, TV series and books - when the author tolerates fan fiction.

I'm still a fan of I need a Parrot, the first Buffy fanfiction site I visited and where I posted my first fan fiction stories.

Now I prefer Twisting the Hellmouth, because there are always new stories and new chapters to find. It is easy to navigate, i.e. you can click on a direct link to the newest chapter of a favourite story or even set stories on "follow", so you will be informed when a new chapter of a "followed" story is posted. The site is well travelled and a lot of readers leave reviews, depending on the story.

I have placed one story there, "Xander in Smallville", with seven chapters so far. For that I have received 35 reviews. What really makes my giddy about Twisting the Hellmouth is the little counter that shows you how many people have clicked on the story (I don't presume everyone read it.). By now the story has gathered over 14,700 hits. Which is nothing big; the most favourite stories ring in by over 200,000 hits. It possible helps if the story has a lot of chapters. But to me it's always a kick to see that little counter go up.

There are a lot of authors, so a lot of stories are abandoned or only irregularly updated. Still, there are some great stories to find. I recommend going to my author's profile there and looking at my recommendations.
