Rejoice in Sufferings
Hi everyone. I wanted to update my live journal because it has been so long, but then the Planning Commission meeting happened, and I didn't know what to say. Then I read this verse: "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:3-5. The NIV study note mentions the importance of the word "in" rather than "because of". We aren't supposed to be morbid and rejoice because of our sufferings, but in spite of them. So that is what I am doing--rejoicing!
