they're printing things on food!

I saw these in the grocery store today, and they got me. I don't even like pringles, but I had to buy them. although, since they have movie trivia, maybe I can write it off as a business expense. heh.

apparently they've been out for a while; I'm impressed that I hadn't seen them in a store until now (three years later?). although, given that I don't usually eat pringles, and I don't normally spend a lot of time in the chip/soda aisle in the grocery store, perhaps that's why.

after purchasing, I did some research (out of order, oops). in the process, I found this article, from a site known as spudart.org. I'm amazed that there's a website dedicated to potatoes and art, two of my favorite things!

but regardless, they taste just like regular old pringles, slightly too salty and made from potato flakes, mixed up and dried into a chip shape. I remember watching an episode of "unwrapped" (at least, I think it was that show, it might have been something else) where they discussed the history of pringles and how there was an uproar in the chip industry as to whether they could actually call them potato chips, since they're made from reconstituted potatoes.

reminds me of how barq's got in trouble for calling themselves a root beer back in 1890whatever, because it has caffeine in it. yeah, I wrote my 11th grade american history research paper on root beer. but that's a story for another time. or tyme, depending on how you want to look at it.

ok. time to go eat real food and stop wasting time talking about chips and soda.
