- bistro means a small restaurant, and it is french in origin. (this I figured, but never had thought about.)
- it's jude law who is in that movie with nora jones. (this I knew, but couldn't remember his name, so it was bugging me.)
- the predicate of a sentence is the bit that tells you something about the subject. (this I also knew, but I hadn't thought about it in a while.)
- the strings on a guitar are tuned (from low to high): EADGBE. according to this website (which was ranked highest on the google search for 'guitar string sequence'), the standard mnemonic for remembering this is "Eddie Ate Dynamite; Good Bye Eddie". how depressing! (didn't know this. knew that the lowest and highest strings were E, but didn't think about the other ones.)
