sophie does this cute thing where she'll be playing with a toy and then realize that she's hungry, so she'll take her toy with her and drop it in the empty side of her food dish (two compartments, one for food, the other for treats).

apparently it's a sort of indication of possession. she's saying "this is my toy, and this is my food dish, therefore, I can stick my toy in my food dish for safekeeping" or something like that.

today though, I found a 'toy' (read: crumpled up piece of paper that she found in my trash can) in her water dish. what a goof.

at least it was just paper, and not a real toy. but I suppose to her, it's all the same. crumpled up pieces of paper are extremely easy to come by, and she delights in batting them around the apartment. figures that she likes the cheap things like paper and pens and bits of string, and doesn't play with the expensive toys much. sometimes. but not as much as paper.
