another bus related entry. I think I might start making tags of bus entries, and collecting them/editing them. they're fun.
anyway.
so, the other day on the bus, I saw one of those ads that line the ceiling that had a little cartoon girl with pigtails, with what looked like chocolate cake all over her mouth, and the caption was "kissing a smoker is just as gross." I figured it was just one of those things, and I was kind of confused, because yes, I'm sure kissing someone with chocolate cake smeared all over their face probably isn't all that pleasant, but still. it's cake. you can just wipe it off afterward. and that's what little kids do. they're messy sometimes.
but no!
today, while riding the bus out to the u district, I saw the same ad. but I was sitting closer to it. it's definitely NOT chocolate cake. it's a dead rat. eww! still confused. is she kissing the dead rat? is she eating the dead rat? what the hell? what a horrible, disturbing ad!
after arriving home, I remembered that I wrote down the web address for the ad: ashtraymouth.com. apparently, the dead rat* is just IN the little girl's mouth. still frightening. but. there's a game there where you can practice throwing gross things into the other little kid's mouth. it's fun. apparently you can also challenge your friends and invite them to play against you.
I dunno. it seems like such a drastic, disturbing ad campaign. part of the 'tobacco smokes you' group, apparently.
but still. gave me something unusal to ponder on my bus ride. and things out of the ordinary are kind of fun. and strange.
