i entered the hospital when it was dark out
and i left the hospital when it was dark out.
6:30 to 6:30.
sweet-ness.
my patients were fine today - i had three girls. one was in for surgery for flat feet, another was in b/c she had a growth removed on her neck, and the last one had a rebleed from a tonsillectomy. i basically did lots of vital signs and assessments and just talking to patients and their fams. i took out an iv for the first time. and i detected wheezing in tonsillectomy girl's lungs and told my instructor who came to check and sure enough! the girl had asthma that hadn't been treated since she was admitted. aaaand i went all over the hospital looking for a blue slushie b/c the same patient wouldn't drink unless it was a blue slushie.
sigh.
im pooped though. my body does not like having to wake up at 5:45 am on a saturday.
oh - and i applied for grad school! i'm keepin my fingers crossed- i find out before the start of next semester!!!
