Cosplay
So I'm going to Dragon*Con, for those of you who didn't kknow. I've got a couple of costumes lined up. Aaaand, one of them is Black Canary (super heroine from the DC verse). I ordered a leotard waaaay back in... January, I think. I decided to modify it the other day so it'd look more like I wanted it to.
Bad idea.
So, fucked up that. So today, I magically had some stretchy fabric suitable for it, and I made a leotard. I don't know anybody else who can say that. It's pretty awesome, but the part that's meant to cover my ass keeps sliding around because I didn't use elastic. I'll fix it somehow, no problem. What is a problem, though, is depending on this pair of fishnet tights I've had for x amount of years, only to finally find them, put them on, and go "WTF happened here?" because there is a giant hole on the upper thigh that spread into the crotch area. I assume it got caught on something, but still. So now I have to get new tights. FML.
Also, the cape for my Scarlet Witch outfit? Not going so well. I guess it'd be better to say it's KICKING MY ASS. This. This is why I can't become a clothes designer. I think things will work, but physics says no, and it all makes me very sad. :(
In better news, my mother is doing absolutely TERRIFIC after her surgery. My stepfather had the same surgery this past Monday, and he is doing well too, if not a little crazy. No seriously. He's not allowed to drive right after surgery, especially if he's still on the pain medication. Why he thought it would be fine to, I have no idea.
Also, got a new phone. It has a sliding-out keyboardy thing, and I am in LOVE. Seriously.
One more week til I move back in to the dorms, then another 2 weeks until D*Con. I am nervous like whoa. I need to make cuppycakes or something. So! The end. How about you?
