Even if you must continue to meet your real world obligations, you are able to move in and out of the scenes of your fantasy. Although this could be seen as escapist behavior, it's healthier for you to think about it as a way of imagining what your life could be like if you gave yourself a chance.

This is hard-hitting, especially "imagining what your life could be like if you gave yourself a chance"
The shape of my "pit of despair" has changed. It's no longer a deep, almost bottomless well. No, it's more of a bog - an inverted bell-shaped curve. And I'm laying at the bottom. Stuck in the mire. But I can see the sky and that's a very good thing. Easier to climb out and do things. Yet, I end up stuck in the mire time and time again.
