Having FINALLY chosen a title and subtitle for my personal Livejournal, it struck me that only a handful of people will know where the heck it comes from. To avoid any possible confusion, I thought I'd give you all a proper introduction to the redoubtable SuperMuse.
She is the embodiment of the forces that compel me to write. Subtly influencing me from a very early age, I have felt the full force of her power on a handful of occasions. Since I started watching the new version of Battlestar Galactica, her strength has waxed. She insists that I write BSG fan fiction to keep her happy. Utilizing a combination of the carrot of chocolate cravings and the stick of simply refusing to let me sleep, she rarely has trouble persuading me to see things her way. ^_^
Her face and form are mutable. Sometimes she becomes one of my favorite female characters from every fandom I've loved. Sometimes she wears the guise of characters of my own creation. Most often she is a shadowy form barely perceived behind me, a hand gesturing in the corner of my eye, a whisper in my ear, nothing to be seen when I turn except a brief gleam of eyes.
She wore my own face once. I freaked out. She promised she wouldn't do it again. B^)
I first spoke of her to others in the post behind the cut below. Since then she has sent some clone or sister to take over the life of my good friend Col. Leonaria Fitzooth (
leonaria) and has infected several on the SciFi channel bulletin boards through her own thread,
SuperMuse Wants YOU! I have helped unleash one the forces of chaos and creation. If you seek to know SuperMuse further, rest assured that your life will never again be what it was.

There's good news and bad news.
The good news: "First Glimpses" is nearly done, in the last rewrite/punchup stage. Having realized that I can't write my best shipfic without a liberal priming of chocolate, I have laid in a supply of Brussels Mint Cookies and Little Debbie's Double Chocolate Rolls to get me to the finish line. Husband will probably get most of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, but hey, he did the dishes, took out the trash and cleaned the guinea pig cages. He's entitled. B^)
The bad news: I am officially an addict. I have done fandom. I have done 'ship. I have done ficwriting. But ficwriting for this 'ship in this fandom is threatening to do me out of sleep entirely! Put EJO together with a classy actress who can give as good as she gets and you can't shut me up anymore!!!!!!
You think I'm kidding? After finishing FG, I of course have "Gods' Gift" awaiting completion, a tale which is going to need MUCH time and TLC. After that, I have at least 3 other ideas for fics to deal with, as well as seeing to my duties as XO of the BSG Estrogen Brigade. Lt. Col. Karihan needs to get back in the thick of the lust; she's been sorely missed lately. At least I got in on the musical Twister game. ;^)
Feels like my Inner Lustmonkey, my Gooey Romantic and my Disciplined Writer have all fused into one omnipotent being ... SUPERMUSE! (TM)
And SuperMuse is a VERY harsh mistress ...
Just keep chanting the mantra ... sleep is for the weak ... sleep is for the weak ... sleep is for th*KLONK*
