The initial plan was that I would be working tomorrow night, but as I've only ever been to the rock night on Thursdays, I thought it'd be best to go & check out the Saturdays first, so that I have an idea of the crowd, music & what costumes to bring.
I haven't "got the job" or anything, just a trial night next week. I think.
This is sehr, sehr gut. :)
So, seeing as everyone is "living it up in LE", Karin & myself will be getting suitably dressed up (hello to my lo-risers & kitten heels... :s ) & shaking it to house moozak, courtesy of the club.
I'm missing Distain! & Fixmer/McCarthy for this...??! :/ Well, I couldn't afford to go to LE for just the two bands anyway. Plus I get to give (semi-)employment in Berlin a real shot too... so it's all good. Ish.
For some reason though, I'm fearing the music tomorrow. I mean, I like house (a lot, actually), but in recent years it's morphed into a more funky, chunky electro sound, which is very awesome, & as such, most nights seem to describe that as house & electro.
This is just described as "house". Which makes me think of Dave Morales, Masters At Work & Armand Van Helden. Which I find kinda... hmmmm. :/
Ahh, what does it matter anyway. It's not a question of "do I enjoy it?", it's a question of "it's a job, why does my opinion count?". Did I enjoy the music (& indeed the clubs) of my previous dance work? 80% of the time, no I certainly didn't. But that's meaningless. It's what I did, it's what I may be doing again, & it's unprofessional to let the music/club/people/any-damn-thing matter.
And besides, the music & the crowd could be awesome anyway. I mean, I'm in Berlin now, not London.* :)
Anyways. I think I'm gonna go for a walk & enjoy the sunshine here. Hope the good weather holds up all weekend for WGT.
Have fun down there guys! :)
*No offence to any Londoners... I'm just not a big fan of certain house music clubs in London.
