Venting!!!
Okay, so I have been a girl scout leader for 6 years. I have helped with camps for years, served on committees, etc. This weekend, 2 of my moms took the girls on a camping trip. I had the paperwork for the girls in my van and forgot to hand it to them. Today, they were asked to show the paperwork (no one has EVER looked before) and when it was found out that they did not have the paperwork, threatened to send them home and lectured them. (They were going to take my van on the campout and the papers were in there...BUT, there was too much luggage, so they took 2 cars instead...the paperwork got left in the van).
Anyway, I drive the paperwork 1/2 hr north and one of the moms drove 1/2 hr south to get it. Problem solved, no big deal.
Except, that one of the moms told me that there was a chance I was going to get fired as a leader based on something one of the ladies in charge said. Really??? Because permission slips were left in a van? After 6 years? I realize about liability, etc, but honestly, problem found, problem fixed. move on!!!
I can't hardly wait 'til Monday when the Girl Scout office is open!! :)
