this prompt on the kink meme. "So the gang comes across an abandoned roller rink and decides to have some fun. You know, throw on some skates, pump some disco/party tunes (Cha-Cha Slide, yes?), and get busy teaching Columbus how to skate/ laughing at him when he falls on his ass. Also, they can make fun of Tally for being old enough to know the words/moves/bell bottom jeans ('nuff said). Whatever happens, the end result must be Tallahassee and Columbus getting it on."
Little Rock was pulling of a pair of roller blades with some purpose and Tallahassee couldn't help but wonder why the next generation had to make something as simple as four wheels a lot more complicated than it was. He grabbed the simple skates behind the counter and pulled off his boots in order to drag them on.
Wichita was out of sight for the moment looking through the different CDs that were strewn across the DJ box to the side of the roller rink. She had already put on her own skates and was actually grinning like a little kid. She had suggested heading into 'Skate Town' for Little Rock's sake under the pretense of her needing to feel like a kid in the middle of the fucking apocalypse. Tallahassee knew better, it was really for her. It let them have a little bit of fun, though, so he figured it couldn't all be bad.
Columbus was the only one that was having a problem with any of this. He was standing in the corner looking uneasy about the whole situation. He had refused to put skates on saying some bull shit along the lines of someone needing to be on watch since they were planning on blasting music. He would make him come around soon enough, though.
"Oh fuck, guys! This place had a DISCO night!" Wichita called from her perch and fired up the sound system, glad to see that the power was still working in the place. Clicking a few more buttons the rink went dark except for a disco ball in the middle and some black lights overhead casting a weird glow. The speakers came to lift as You A Shining Star by Earth, Wind, and Fire started pumping out.
Little Rock was laughing in delight at the prospect and was the first one out, followed by her sister as she skated down and joined the 12-year-old. Tallahassee had finished with his skates in this time and looked over at Ohio who was chewing on his hoodie string like always. Sighing he skated up to his spit-fuck and wrapped his arms around him, earing a squeak from the younger male. "Stop standin' there and get some god dammed skates on."
"But... but someone needs to hold watch." He complained weakly, knowing the moment the hick got something into his brain he was determined to make it happen.
"Ain't none of 'em here, spitfuck. Cleared out the whole damn place 'fore hand, remember?" Tallahassee asked, pulling Columbus against his chest and leaned down to nip and lick at his neck. He waited until the ex-college-student let out a needy little moan before he pulled away and skated backwards in order to create distance and still see his reaction. "Now get some skates."
Columbus pouted [not that he would ever admit it] and headed over to where the skates were and muttering things about a tease and the things he does for him. It only caused Florida to grin wider at the boy.
When he hit the floor it became apparent that Tallahassee had done this before and Ohio hadn't at all. Tally was gliding around the rink, listing to the classics of a different age. He couldn't help but sing along with the Michale Jackson song that was playing. "Thought hicks only listened to country!" Little Rock teased as she glided by him.
"Everyone listened to Jackson's music back in the day." Florida defended himself.
Little Rock stopped her skating and stared at him. "Oh my God you ARE old! You probably even wore BELL BOTTOMS in HIGH SCHOOL!!" She looked like the idea was the end of the world, even though the literal end was going on around them.
"You know I ain't ever hit a kid before..." He trailed off and started to race after the kid, but she started to skate quickly again in an attempt to get away. He would have been much more intimidating if he didn't have a smile plastered on his face. With the little one around he could feel like an actual father again, and she didn't seem to mind actually having a Dad for once. In a way it was good for the both of them.
Meanwhile Wichita glided over to Columbus who was clutching onto the wall for dear life. "Don't tell me you never did this as a kid either."
"There were, um, less-dangerous things to do." He said, voice sounding a little bit worried as he stared at the ground like it was going to attack him. "P-plus my balance isn't that great."
"That one I'll believe. Come one, live a little!" She grabbed his arm, rolling him forward. To no ones surprise the nerd lost balance and fell promptly onto his ass, causing the girl to laugh. "I'm pretty sure that isn't how you do it." They repeated this a few more times, which of course caused Little Rock and Tallahassee to give up their game of chase to come over and survey the damage.
"You totally suck." Little Rock dead panned as she watched him once again try to get up.
"Agreed." Wichita said and let their resident Phobic lean on her so he wouldn't meet the ground again. It only laster a second, though, before Tallahassee wrapped his arms around his mid section and slowly scooted him away from her.
"Yer thinking too much, spitfuck. I'll show you how it's done." He forced Columbus to lean back against his chest by pulling him in tighter. The older man started slowly, pushing off and simply gliding Ohio across the hardwood floor. "You aren't walking, it's kinda like pushing off the ground to go forward. Try ta walk, and you'll fall." But instead of letting him practice, he just kept skating with Ohio in his arms listening to disco music blast around him. He would never admit it but Columbus looked damned cute with the disco-balls light reflecting off those soft curls.
"Aw, aren't you two just precious!" Wichita cooed as she slowed down to keep time with the couple. She would be the first to admit that her family was more than a little bit fucked up, but she had one now and that was all that mattered. It did get a little creepy when she realized the guy she considered to be Little Rock's father and the boy who was her 'brother' were fucking, but she soon got over it. Plus it kept Tallahassee entertained and out of too much trouble.
"Girl I will kill you." Florida said before looking back down at his lover who was blushing like mad. It was cute when he got flustered.
"No, you ain't." She mocked and looked like she was going to say more until there was a scream coming from the other side of the rink. It was Little Rock, no doubt about that. Wichita swore under his breath and raced off toward her sister.
Tallahassee knew the girl was going to need some help, so he quickly went over to the nearest wall and told Ohio to stay there, mostly so he knew where the kid would be if something happened. He skated off in a high rage while the younger male simply lent against the wall, hoping for it all to be over soon. He wished that he had his shotgun, but it was all the way on the other side of the skating rink. There was no hope for him to get over there in one piece. Or so he thought.
There was a sound behind him and low and behold, two zombies had popped up right behind him. This wasn't the first time that Rule #29 had been broken, the Buddy System. So with a lack of Tally at his side, he had to think of something fast. Unfortunately it consisted of letting go of the wall and running, well... skating, like hell. Surprisingly, as he pushed off the ground madly he moved forward without too much effort. The zombies, though, were also terrifyingly fast [they must have had good cardio themselves]. He hated to take a que from a song but sliding to the left seemed like a good idea in order to avoid the grab that was aimed at him.
Coming up on the other side of the rink he saw his shotgun lying on the ground and dove for it, literally. Hitting the ground and getting his hands on the ground he maneuverer so he rolled onto his back and shot, hitting the first zombie square in the head. Taking aim again he hit the second one who didn't seem to be slowed down one bit. Problem was it was a double barrel and he had just used both shots. Closing his eyes tight he waited for the inevitable.
A shot rang out and the second zombie fell. Taking a deep breath Columbus looked up and saw Little Rock standing over him, gun in hand. "Your getting better at that!" Tallahassee called somewhere behind her, which caused the girl to smile at her accomplishment. The hick came into view and looked down at him, shaking his head slightly. "Given the right situation, your'a fast little fucker on those things." He helped him up, only to watch the kid once again cling to the wall. Getting an idea he once again scooped up Ohio and started off toward one of the abandoned offices to the side. "Ya really impressed me kid, now let me show you how much." The younger blushed profusely at the implication.
Little Rock turned to her sister and sighed, "We're going to have to turn up the music, aren't we?"
"I'm already on it." Wichita said, skating over to the DJ stand once more.
