Today when we were coming back from Benny's check up, we passed a billboard with a big picture of Obama on it. Benny saw it and happily exclaimed "OOOOOOOOObama" and clapped his hands.

My son is showing very good political sense for someone who is only 15 months old. He's also the most adorable Obama supporter in the entire world.

So how wide-spread is support for Obama in your [Orthodox] community. I find that many people, especially damn-fool Jews, are voting against Obama, for all the wrong reasons. Especially awkward are those who think dumb-as-a-brick Palin is somehow Good For Israel.

The following offensive picture was sent to me by a good friend, who did in fact vote for McCain (I find it somewhat funny because it's an obvious fake, if that makes sense. It's making more fun of the Jews than of Obama). I think the sentiment of this "photo" is somehow, what's the word? symbolic? of the whole mess:

Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of support for McCain because people foolishly believe he will be "better for Israel. Personally, I fail to see how sabre-rattling will be good for Israel. The good news is more people are supporting Obama than I thought there would be. It is probably a 65/35 split.

Some of the things people believe about Obama are crazy though. One of my neighbors is convinced Obama is assembling his own black-shirt militia and will start rounding up Jews if he takes office. I don't know where people get this foolishness. I find the prospect of people like that voting far more frightening than anything else.
