i know there's an answer
I'm trying to start on a new song, and I'm struggling to write the first line of this post: no wonder I can't write a song lately. I printed out the lyric ideas and lines I've been typing into notes on my phone, and I have pages. I just can't seem to settle into a theme with this one. The songs I've written so far started with a solid idea of what I wanted to say. I can't seem to find that this time. Blah.
I am at least back to playing/practicing guitar. I'm working a little on Travis picking. I really try not to get intimidated and discouraged being around people who've been playing for so so many years, but it's sometimes hard. I need to remember how much progress I've made in the past three years. And five years ago, I never would have believed I'd be playing guitar and writing songs and performing them. It's pretty amazing, actually.
