Back on Maui

The day after our Oahu trip, everyone went to the Tasty Crust for breakfast. The Tasty Crust is the most divy, local place that you can imagine. The seating is communal style and the tables are always sticky with syrup. It's also delicious and always packed. They have the best pancakes on the Island.

On the way back, we stopped at the Maui Tropical Plantation. This was one of my favorite places as a kid. We went on the plantation tour, which is on tractor pulled trams and lasts about half an hour. The tour stops so that you can hop off and take pictures in the fields. We also saw a girl do a coconut demonstration, where she peeled it and then smashed it open with her hands. Did you know that the coconut juice should be as clear as tap water? If it's milky, that means it's spoiled. The plantation has all of Maui's main crops, plus ton's of flowers. After the tour, we walked the grounds and took pictures. Now, the plantation has a cage with two spider monkey's that were taken in after the zoo closed. They were playing and fun to watch.

Marc and Uncle Larry wanted to rest at home, so we dropped them off. I went shopping with my mom and aunt. My feet were a wreck, so I stopped at a salon and got a pedicure. I was wearing my hiking sandals, so I had to buy new flip flops as to not wreck my polish. Yes, really just an excuse to buy something.

Dinner was grilled steaks at home. We have really been making use of the grills at the whale watch. It's relaxing to BBQ, while looking out at the ocean.
