Stagecoach 2008
Yesterday I went to the Stagecoach music festival. It was a ton of fun and I will definitely be back in 2009. A few thoughts...
1. Excellent people watching. Seriously, probably the best people watching that I have ever encountered. Country music fans are crazy, especially the people who did the onsite camping.
2. Dierks Bently is hot! I have a new celebrity crush.
3. Taylor Swift didn't disappoint. She was adorable live and performed all of the songs that I was hoping she would.
4. Stagecoach is the week after Coachella. It's basically the same thing, with different music and much cheaper beer. I went to Coachella a few years ago, but it seemed like Stagecoach was twice as crowded.
5. I never thought it could be possible, but I ate too much BBQ. They had a BBQ contest with about thirty companies giving samples of their BBQ. We bought ten tickets to try samples, but the samples were more like entire plates. I ate until I simply couldn't eat anymore...so good!
5. Next year, I am wearing pink cowgirl boots. This is non-negotiable!
In unrelated news...I saw the new Americana mall in Glendale today. It's really impressive. Glendale now has J.Crew, Kielh's, Anthropologie and a whole bunch of cool stores that I have never heard of before...It has a park area, a trolley and Belagio esque fountains. It's very similar to the Grove, but I think it's prettier. I think I am wooed by it enough to not be concerned about the traffic it's going to bring. I am sure that I will bitch about it in December though!
