Bad news first...got mom's MRI results back today and it has spread to her brain. This means that she is now considered stage four. Her appointments got all switched around this week. Tomorrow, she has a PET scan, which will determine if it has spread to anywhere else in her body. Thursday morning she has her first Chemo. Friday she has a consultation with a radiologist. It looks like she will have Chemo once a week and radiation five days a week. I emailed my manager and may be taking a leave of absence soon. Mom is really tired all of the time and the pain in her abdomen is getting worse. Without giving us a confirmation, the doctors now think that it's pretty far along. The PET scan results will be the biggest news. I am a nervous wreck. I am also really angry.
Other, not so depressing news...
Sunday we had Carolyn and Jino over for the Survivor finale. I spent most of the season rooting for Peh Gei (sp?), not so much because I liked her, but because she goes to Fanny's church. Towards the end, I shifted to rooting for Courtney. She was probably the biggest bitch on the show, but she was amusing to watch. On a whole, it was a good season, but I didn't have huge feelings towards any of the contestants. We watched all three hours and I made myself sick by over eating pizza and beer. I woke up still full the next morning.
This weekend, Marc and I stayed tuned to "Go Country" trying to win tickets to the Stage Coach festival. I really want to go. Marc doesn't, but he suffered though music that he doesn't like, because I want to go. At one point, he was caller 24, they were looking for 25. So close! This week, they are giving out tickets to Taylor Swift. Not as good as Stage Coach tickets, but it would make me really happy! I would really love both!!! :-)
Rent Spiderman three...bad, bad movie.
Got our first Christmas present,...my father-in-law and his wife sent us a check for two hundred. We are ecstatic. They usually send us a shipment from Omaha Steaks. We still have meat from Marc's birthday in May! I also used a gift card from Bed, Bath and Beyond, from last Christmas to buy a pedicure foot bath thing. I used it last night and was kind of giddy. It has different attachments to buffy feet and sand down nails. Not quite as good as a professional pedicure, but a lot more fun. I also made a huge mess, getting water and bubbles all over the carpet.
Sometime in the next two weeks, I am meeting up with a book crossing buddy, Nicole, from Ohio. I met her this time last year, when she came to spend the holiday's with her grandmother. She has tried to organize a meet up, so hopefully there will be more bookcrossers there. I can't wait to trade books. Last year, I Nicole had some good ones that I had not heard of.
