Next year, I am wearing old clothes that can be thrown away. Immediately after the mud pit, we hosed off and put our still somewhat muddy clothes in a bag. At home, I rinsed off more muddy in the shower. I have now put the clothes through the washer twice and they still have a little bit of mud on them. Yuck! Unfortunately. I wore clothes that I really like for the race, including expensive tech shorts. The one good thing, is we both wore our older running shoes, which we threw away. They would have never come clean.
I am still pretty sore and my arms stil have very visible muscle definition, which is kind of weird. We ended up coming in 97th in our division, which wasn't great, but there were a ton of people behind us that didn't finish. We finished the course about twenty minutes slower than my friends from work, which I don't think is too bad, considering they were an all male team and younger. Plus, we took our time in a lot of places, just wanting to finish, not really going for a great time. Next year will be better!!!
Tomorrow, we leave for Connecticut. I am having pre-travel anxiety, which I always seem to get. I am not afraid of being in the plane, it's more like anxiety over all of the potential travel hassles and problems. Marc bought me a blanket that I saw at Bath and Body works. It's soft and warm, perfect for the flight and freezing cold Connecticut. I am not looking forward to the weather!
