The Good Fight...

I wonder what it really is to "fight the good fight" - Is fighting really ever good, or necessary?

Maybe not. Fights involve pain, ego, confusion, opposition, defensive posturing, harmful intent, pride, insecurity, fear, jealousy, self-serving, self-righteousness and by their very nature, violence.

But also, fighting ignorance and lies, fighting for what is right, fair and just, and fighting oppression are all causes worth fighting for.

Intent is the determining factor to measure value. A selfless goal, greatest good for the greatest number of people, and defense of the defenseless are altruistic motivations. Explore all other means of communication before resorting to forcefullness.
