updating is FUN!!!
so here i sit halfway through this lovely winter break at my little ikea desk thats older than i am typing away while listening to the arcade fire cd over and over again! wow that was quite a run on sentence. i really cannot wait to get back to school. i miss it. even though i get stressed out about classes, work, relationships, and drama (etc.) being at school holds so much potential. don't get me wrong i love being back here in texas, being with my family makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the weather is nice, the kitchen pantry is always stocked with goodies, and i have my very own bathroom with a little cup just for my toothbrush, but life seems to stand still here. i still feel like a kid when im here and as lovely as that is, it doesn't "hold me". so i await next semester with great hopes and resolutions!
...now that the whole "reflecting" part of the update is complete let me brag about what i got for christmas!!!
its so freaking cool you guys...firefly season 1 AND serenity(widescreen) on dvd!!
[warning if you have never heard of the show firefly you won't get the following]
i have been literally dreaming about firefly at night. the other night in my dream Mal had come up to me and said "Well Karen, we'd love to have you join the crew after you graduate!" and i know it sounds sad and very lame but the joy i felt in that dream was very strong...oh Captain Reynolds...(dreams some more).
i also got some other stuff and this awesome m-aduio recording interface and a harmonica! which i have been putting to some good use recording some new songs!!! sometimes i get so frustrated with my music i want to quit it all together...but then it comes back and i can't help but make up something new on the guitar or up in my head.
well im tired and am going to go watch an episode of firefly...(ahhh joy)
