Dieter pointed out that I haven't done a Top Albums post. With grad school, work school, and Six Feet Under DVDs, I haven't had the time. So instead, I offer my favorites of the year and invite you to give me feedback and offer your favorites too! The following is actually from my replay to Dieter's post telling me that I failed. Which I did, yes...
I can tell you that I personally liked:
MIA's "Kala,"
The Shin's "Wincing the Night Away,"
Spoon's "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga,"
Radiohead's "In Rainbows,"
Arcade Fire's "Neon Bible,"
Tegan & Sara's "The Con,"
Wilco's "Sky Blue Sky,"
Brother Ali's "Undisputed Truth,"
LCD Soundsystem's "Sounds of Silver," and
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss' "Raising Sand."
Oh, and some of The New Pornographer's "Challengers," although it was no "Twin Cinema." I will say, though, seeing them in concert helped me like the album more, even though I did have food poisoning and sat on the First Avenue floor for much of it.
