I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and was able to relax from all the work that's been going around. My week was great!
I got home on Tuesday evening, and got to see my great-aunt, Sister Rose, before she left to go back to Canada, so that was nice. Wednesday night we had Thanksgiving dinner part I with my mom's side of the family and I gave my computer to my absolutely wonderful cousin, Mel, to upgrade for me. And my 5 1/2 year old cousin, Alex, actually let me hug him...twice!
On Thursday we had dinner part II with my dad's side of the family and friends and strangers out on the farm that we always go to. It was great. I met this really old Venezuelan (sp?) woman who told me that I have eyes like the Venezuelan beauty pageant queens. Yay!
My cousin Cary and I had a "sleepover" that night just like we would have all the time growing up once we turned seven or so. Actually the first one was when we were about three years old. Our parents put us to bed and once they were gone Cary convinced me that we should get out and go to the kitchen to get some peanuts...I didn't think that we should, I was afraid that we'd get caught. But we ventured out anyway and were caught red-handed by my uncle. We found out years and years later that our parents were listening to us from a baby monitor. Damn technology.
This time we watched "Mean Girls" and stayed up talking until 4am. I did wake up when my alarm went off at 7:30, but I turned it off. My aunt woke us back up at 8:15 and said that we were leaving at 9 to go wedding dress shopping, so we had to hop into action.
That's right, kids, wedding dress shopping. My cousin is getting married in August! And guess who was chosen to be Maid of Honor? That's right! ME! I get to carry flowers and wear a pretty dress and stand up in front of 400+ people...it's almost as good as being the bride.
I think that I'm going to make her practice throwing the bouquet with me. That way I'll know how far she throws, which side she goes to, that sort of thing. I'm going to have this down to a science.
Later on Friday, my cousin Mel gave me back my computer and then we went to Pizza Hut and then to see "Bridget Jones' Diary: The Edge of Reason". I highly reccomend it.
Well...that was my exciting vacation...now I should do work...because I have TONS of it. Catch you all later.
