The ER doctor was very concerned and said I need to be on Provera to stop this period because I am anemic at this point. I also have a urinary tract infection. He wants me to call my gyno Mon. and let her know that I need that sonogram ASAP and should be placed on Provera immediately. I had called the on-call doctor who had instructed me to go to the ER. I was given a shot of dilaudid as I had gotten to the point where I was in intense pain, nauseated, and was pacing because it hurt to sit. I was also given a prescription of liquid Lortab and an antibiotic.
I don't really appreciate my gynecologist and her nurse not treating me seriously about the possibility of anemia and not considering my pain level. I don't appreciate the nurse making smartass comments to me about the doctor not prescribing narcotics just because I can't take anti-inflammatories. I don't appreciate her not calling me back. I think when I call Mon., some heads are going to roll. I'm a little annoyed that my gyno. asked me a thousand questions about my gastric bypass but didn't ask me enough questions about my gyno related problems such as if I have pain during or after intercourse, and what kind of pain I'm having, how intense it is, etc. I think those are things that should be considered. I think it's serious when a patient bleeds that heavily for so long and is in such intense pain. I'm already at increased risk for anemia due to the bypass. I don't think anemia is something that needs to be taken lightly. I hate to switch gynecologists once again as this one is the 5th one I've seen but I can't seem to find one that can get their act together about my ongoing problems that I've had for years. It's been the same, "well, I don't know what to do with you or why you're in so much pain" kind of approach, yet none of them have recommended a laproscopic surgery to look for a possible cause when I think that is standard procedure.
The ER doctor told me to come right back up there if the pain returns or if I feel worse or continue to bleed heavily. I really appreciated his concern.
I haven't had to take any of the Lortab thankfully and the Dilaudid caused me to have some fucked up dreams. I don't really like the way it made me feel. I felt out of control I was so doped up. That stuff seems pretty strong. I still had a tiny bit of pain but could really care less about it I was so dopey. Scottie came to the ER and I was at his house for a little while last night.
Today, I feel better, other than now having that stomach virus that Trace had. I'm just grateful to not be in pain at the moment and that I'm not bleeding to death.
