Well, it seems like it's been forever since I have updated my Live Journal. Not that anyone would miss me... :) Anyway, lots has been going on. In my previous journal entries, I've mentioned that I would feel guilty being inside instead of outside. Well, that still holds true. I have been totally busy with outside events. With maybe one inside one.
Shelley and I went to Mystic on Thursday through Saturday of last week (right before 4th of July). We had a blast! Let me tell you, there's a lot more to do than just going to the old Sea Village and Aquarium (not that there's anything wrong with that. Seinfeld reference. We shopped at the Olde Towne. (There is a great shop there called "Raining Cats and Dogs", for all you animal lovers out there.) We went to this other place called Enders Island. It's a retreat in the middle of Long Island Sound connected to Mystic sort of...it had it's own little chapel surrounded by the water. Needless to say it was very tranquil and peaceful. Went to Mystic Pizza also. We went on a sailing vessel (which unfortunately had to be cut short due to severe thundershowers). Saw quite a few lighthouses (which Shelley is absolutely facsincated with). On the way home, stopped at Ocean Beach Park in New London. What a great beach with a great boardwalk and plenty of food and amusements. I'm giving it a two-thumbs up. Then the Fourth came...and there was a big beach bash! Had a great time!! Very, very tan...not to brag or anything.
Wednesday went to Lake Compounce with the gang. Also, on Friday went to see "Spiderman 2" with my little nephews and on to Chucky Cheese. No adult should EVER and I mean EVER eat at Chucky Cheese. My stomach has been a wreck for a couple of days since that little fiasco. Saw Shelley on Saturday...went to Walmart and for some ice cream -- nothing major. All in all, I think I just might be exhausted. LOL!
I love the summer and especially July! It's my birthday month! And speaking of which, next Saturday everyone is getting together for my birthday at a New Haven County Cutters baseball game (independent league). I'm really looking forward to it! My birthday is actually July 22nd, but the Cutters will not be having any home games during that particular week.
Anyway...the weather has been just gorgeous...been in the 80's consistently with some humidity, but not killer, more dryer. So how can anyone be inside? I know I can't...I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as I am...it's my favorite time of year -- well, besides Christmas that is!
