I am now convinced that I am completely out of step with the rest of America when it comes to home decor. I am trying to buy a new comforter for our bed, because the one we have now is a) old and b) too small and c) ugly. I have had no success. All I want is a solid comforter in a clear shade of purple or yellow (or I'd even take orange at this point) but the stores I've been to only have dusty, dull colors or multi-hued prints that make my eyes hurt. The best one I found was a clear lilac one in the kids section at Target, but of course it being the kids section that one did not come in a large enough size for our gigantic bed. I guess I'll have to poke around online. Or maybe I'll buy something ugly and make a cover for it, but I hate to spend time sewing if I'm not going to get a quilt in the end.
