Finally
I am very, very happy to report that I got my mom signed up for online banking, something I've wanted to do since July. The holdup was getting her an ATM card, which shouldn't have taken as long as it did but somehow with Mom simple things get really complicated. Last month when I visited she had the PIN but not the card, and this month she said she had the card but when I asked where it was, she couldn't find it and I almost pitched a fit but didn't becuase really where would that get us anyway. While silently fuming, I discovered the card in one of the many, many piles of papers she'd saved for me (none of them in the folder we'd set up for her to put things in for me to look at), and voila--she's now got an id and password for online banking. Not that she'll be using them anytime soon, I don't expect, but at least I can keep an eye on things, which makes me feel better.
